 Insurance Reduction Certificate Course

 Class 5 Driver Education Course 

  • Cost $795+GST. Payment plan exits. See below "How to Start"

  • Consists of 15 hours of driving theory (online) and 10 hours of road driving lessons (Details given below) 

  • Reduces insurance premium reduction for upto 3 years. It is calculated by Insurance Co. & varies

  • Reduces Class 5 GDL probation by 6 months

  • Online Theory to be completed before start of Road Lessons. This Course is to be completed in max one year.

  • Course gets you insurance reduction certificate and prepares you for Road Test. However Alberta transportation recommends 30 to 40 hours of driving practice apart from driving lessons to become capable and pass road test. Students who are novice, nervous, slow learner, having difficulty in coordinating their mind and actions while driving, will need extra practice

  • Student can change/cancel lesson more than 48 hours in advance at no charge. Cancellation within 48 to 24 hours will cost $75. Cancellation less than 24 hours of lesson or No-Shows will be charged the full lesson fee. School reserves the right to cancel driving lesson at anytime without obligation due to weather or road conditoins, mechanical issues or other unforseen circumstances.

  • Proceed to the next driving lesson ONLY if you are satisfied with previous driving lesson. Otherwise feel free to cancel the course and receive refund as per our refund policy 

  • Road Test is not part of the Driving Course. No driving school can conduct road test. Driving schools provides training and facilitate booking road test. Road test is conducted by the examiner at the registry. Road test is to be booked by student through government website www.albertadriverexaminer.ca/ or by visiting the Registry. Student training car is available for road test, if we feel that student is capable to pass road test

  • Student needs to pass online theory and qualify in driving instructor’s evaluation to receive Driver Education certificate

 How To Start 

  • Strongly recommended to see our Driving Lesson Availability Calendar

  • Send (photo of student learner license, student cell number, student email) and (parent cell number, parent email if student under the age of 18), by email to RedDeerDrivingSchool@gmail.com 

  • If we have vacancy, we will prepare your registration form and invoice and send to you for approval. Sample Form

  • Total cost $795+GST=$834.75. Course starts with minimum payment of $234.75 or more or full by intrac transfer to RedDeerDrivingSchool@gmail.com Balance can be paid in installment of $120 before each driving lesson till balance is due. Driving Lesson on weekend / holiday / before 8.30am / after 4pm is $10 cash extra

  • Online Driving Theory link and Payment Receipt are automatically generated to your email upon receipt of initial payment

  • As part of  the course, you can book your 5 driving lessons anytime by clicking BOOKING on website. Booking of lessons is on first come first serve basis

 What Course Includes 

Driving Theory (online) of 15 hours

  1. Online link for driving theory issued to student email is valid for 90 days. Theory to be finished within one year from start date. 

  2. To be done on your computer in your own time. Use google chrome on PC for best results.

  3. Theory is divided in modules. Any module can be repeated any number of times. Includes interactive videos and exercises to teach correct driving technique, traffic rules and reactions to various traffic situation. You can track your understanding and progress

  4. At the end, you get upto three attempts to qualify in Driving Theory multi choice quiz with minimum 80%. Students who deliberately study the modules, easily pass

Road Driving Lessons of 10 hours

  1. Conducted in 5 driving lesson of 2 hours each. Max 2 lessons allowed in a day. Highly recommended to do driving lessons closer to each other to get max learning benefit. Can buy more lessons after the course if desirous. Lesson on weekend / holiday / before 8.30am / after 4pm is $10 cash extra

  2. We provide Government approved modified driver training car along with driving instructor for driving lessons

  3. Free pick up and drop off of the student in Red Deer​

  4. At the end of all driving lessons, student needs to qualify in driving instructor’s evaluation with minimum 75% (means drive independently without coaching)

 Driving Lessons Include 

Teach following aspects. Will need extra lessons to complete teaching on all aspects for slow learners, novice and nervous drivers

  • Pre-Trip activities as a Class 5 license holder

  • Actions on start and return

  • Activities while driving

  • Turns at various types of intersections

  • Moving out from curbside parking and returning

  • Parallel parking behind a car and between two cars

  • Uphill and Downhill parking

  • Angle and Perpendicular parking in parking lot

  • Backing and Reverse parking

  • Lane changing in various situations

  • Navigating controlled intersection

  • Navigating un-controlled intersection

  • Navigating traffic circles

  • Downtown driving

  • Entering and Exiting highway

  • Lane changing on highway

  • Dealing with various traffic conditions
