Please Note:

  1. Issue of online link will be treated as Driving Theory portion commenced.

  2. Course fee includes free pickup and drop off of student for road driving lesson within Red Deer city limits

  3. Each driving lesson is of 2 hours. Maximum 2 lessons allowed in a day. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to do all lessons closer to each other to get maximum benefits

  4. Lesson on Weekend or Holiday or Before 8.30am or After 4pm is $10 Cash extra

  5. Student needs to pass Online Driving Theory with minimum 80% AND qualify in driving instructor’s evaluation after all road driving lessons with minimum 75% (means drive independent safely), to receive Driver Education certificate.

  6. Course to be completed in max two years from the date of registration. As per AB Driver Training Curriculum Standards, Online Theory needs to start before road driving lessons, but can run concurrently with driving lessons

Payment Mode

  1. Cash / Interac-e-Transfer → Cost of course + GST

  2. Credit Card → (Cost + GST) + 3% card processing fee if card swipe/tap and 3.5% if card details filled manually

  3. No other mode of payment accepted

  4. Part payment accepted. Can pay in installments of $120 before each driving lesson after initial payment of $234.75

  5. Driving Theory portion fee needs to be paid before issue of online link to student's email

Refund Policy

  1. No refund of Driving Theory portion fee after issue of Online link to the student

  2. For partially completed Driver Education course, cost of driving theory, plus fee at a scale of $75 per hour of road driving lessons completed, plus GST will be deducted. Balance fee will be refunded.

  3. No refund of card processing fee.

  4. For cancellation of driving lesson, see paragraph 5 on page 2 below

  5. Refund will be paid through Cash/Interac-e-transfer

Course & Cost

  • Class 5 Driver Education Course – $795+ GST or Agreed cost as per Invoice

  • Extra Driving Lesson - $145 + GST for each 2 hour lesson

  • Driving Theory 15 hours (ONLINE) - $150 + GST (If bought separately)

SCHOOL Vs STUDENT AGREEMENT

  1. PURCHASE- Driver Education Course - consists 15 hours of Theory (online) & 10 hours Road Driving Lessons

  2. Driving Theory to be done online on student’s PC. Online link remains valid for 90 days from date of issue. Theory is divided into modules. Any module can be repeated any number of times. At the end of all modules, student gets up to 3 attempts to pass the final quiz exam with a minimum 80% score.

  3. Road Driver Training of 10 hours will be conducted in 5 lessons of 2 hours each. Student needs to qualify in driving instructor’s evaluation with minimum 75% after ALL driving lessons (means drive independent safely)

  4. Learning Ability Varies. Generally a new student learns driving in 10 to 12 hours. Students who are novice, nervous, slow learner, have difficulty in coordinating their mind and actions while driving, slow learning ability, will need extra practice to become capable drivers. Alberta transportation recommends 30-40 hours of driving practice to reach passing standards and become capable driver

  5. Instructor may not be able to cover all activities of driving during the 5 driving lessons in case the student is a novice, nervous or slow learner. Student may need to buy more driving lessons

  6. Proceed to the next driving lesson ONLY if you are satisfied with previous driving lessons. Otherwise feel free to cancel the course and receive refund as per our refund policy

Responsibility of the Student

  1. Student to be in possession of minimum Class-7 valid learner license/equivalent during Road Driving lessons.

  2. Student should be in a medically and physically fit condition to undertake the driving lessons.

  3. Unacceptable behaviour of the student, distracted driving or not following instructions of driving instructor will result in termination of driving lesson on the spot at student’s expense. It may also result in termination of the course at school’s discretion and course fee will be refunded as per refund policy.

  4. Student will be liable to pay the cost of repairs limited to $500 (insurance deductible equivalent)  in case of an accident while the student was driving. Student will also be liable to pay traffic violation fines incurred while the student was driving.

  5. Student can change/cancel lesson more than 72 hours in advance at no charge. Cancellation within 72 to 36 hours will cost $75. Cancellation less than 36 hours of lesson or No-Shows will cost the full lesson fee $145

  6. Student will be responsible to clear all dues in full to the driving school

Responsibility of Red Deer Driving School

  1. The school will provide road driving training in a professional manner.

  2. Road Driving lessons will be provided by a driving instructor licensed by Alberta Transportation. Driving instructor will show the instructor license, driving license, vehicle registration and insurance to the student upon demand.

  3. Vehicle being used for Road Driving lessons will be in good running condition, acceptable clean standard, modified for student driver training, have valid registration, 6D insurance and have “STUDENT DRIVER” sign on the vehicle.

  4. During the Road Driving lesson, the driving instructor will give full attention to the student, try to make the student mentally comfortable and avoid any sort of distraction to the student.

  5. School reserves the right to cancel driving lesson at anytime without obligation due to weather conditions or road conditions or mechanical issues or other unforeseen circumstances.

  6. At the end of each road driving lesson, a student driving evaluation will be completed, and student will be apprised of shortcomings and remedial actions.

  7. Alberta Transportation authorizes 5 min break per every hour of Driving Lesson
