Up Hill Parking Steps

  1. Right Lane Change - drift to parking lane (Don’t approach the curb at a big angle)

  2. Positioning vehicle straight & close to curb – Approach curb with steering straight , when very close to curb (10-15cm), while moving, slight left turn to make the car straight and parallel to curb (Don’t worry about the position of steering)

  3. Stop, change gear to “N” , full left turn

  4. Rear window check, left shoulder check

  5. Slow control release of brake and car rolls back and softly settles with the curb

  6. Brake , gear to “P” , put emergency brake

Moving out from Up Hill park

  1. Gear to “D” , release emergency brake

  2. Left Mirror check , left shoulder check , left signal

  3. Press gas paddle constant and gradual while steering the car straight

 

Down Hill Parking Steps

  1. Right Lane Change - drift to parking lane (Don’t approach the curb at a big angle)

  2. Positioning vehicle straight & close to curb – Approach curb with steering straight , when very close to curb (10-15cm), while moving, slight left turn to make the car straight and parallel to curb (Don’t worry about the position of steering)

  3. Stop, change gear to “N” , full right turn

  4. Rear window check, right shoulder check

  5. Slow control release of brake and car rolls forward and softly settles with the curb

  6. Brake , gear to “P” , put emergency brake

Moving out from Up Hill park

  1. Gear to “R” , release emergency brake

  2. While looking from back window reverse car very slow only for about 15-20 cm and stop (May have to give little gas)

  3. Straighten the steering by two left turns,  gear to “D”

  4. Left Mirror check , left shoulder check , left signal

  5. Gradually start moving to drive lane

 

 

Parallel Parking Steps

  1. Approach at slow speed with right signal on & position your car parallel to the parked vehicle about 1 – 1½ meter apart

  2. Stop when you see tail light of parked vehicle through small triangle right side window of own vehicle, (Aim is to make rear bumper of both vehicle in line)

  3. Gear to “R” - Steer one turn right

  4. Find 45 degree angle - Look straight and look approx half left and select any point on half left angle line

  5. Back window check , Left shoulder check (give way to overtaking vehicles and on-coming vehicles)

  6. Reverse very slowly while glancing to back and towards your 45 degree point , Stop when you face straight towards your 45 degree point

  7. Straighten your wheels (One left turn)

  8. While looking back, reverse slowly till your car is behind the rear bumper of parked vehicle and stop – you may see left tail light of parked car from right corner of your front windshield

  9. Steer full left , while looking back, reverse slowly - occasional glance in right mirror till vehicle is parallel to curb

  10. Straighten wheels (two right turns)- gear on “P” – park brake

 

Moving out of Parallel Parking

  1. Gear on “D” – release park brake – full left turn

  2. Left mirror check – left shoulder check – left signal

  3. Start pressing gas paddle while steering the car straight
